In the open plan space of Noverta Chou's residence, the emphasis is not only on spaciousness and practicality but also on ventilation and lighting. The designer carefully evaluates the brightness of light in the space and brings light and greenery into the room through the indoor garden. This integration of nature and architecture creates a harmonious and refreshing atmosphere, promoting a sense of tranquility and well-being.
Furthermore, the designer eliminates the unidirectional convective wind direction of the long space through the exhaust system, allowing the natural wind to flow freely to all corners of the space. This ensures a constant circulation of fresh air, enhancing the overall comfort and livability of the residence.
Visually, the flow of the interior is visualized through curved lines, creating a sense of movement and fluidity. These curves not only add a touch of elegance and sophistication to the space but also serve a functional purpose by guiding the eye and creating a sense of continuity.
The realization of this design is made possible through the use of various materials such as iron, glass, tile, and hand paint. The combination of these elements adds depth and texture to the space, creating a visually stunning and dynamic environment.
The residence spans 112.3 square meters and features 2 bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, an indoor garden, and 2 bathrooms. The open plan layout creates a seamless flow between the different areas, while the curved plan of the indoor garden in the living room echoes the natural light from the windows. The glass screen delineates the private garden from the public area, allowing the users to enjoy exclusive time in each area. Whether gardening, flower arranging, viewing, sunbathing, reading, or dining, the spacious public area offers endless possibilities for relaxation and enjoyment.
Unlike traditional living room layouts, Noverta Chou's design takes into consideration the client's lifestyle and preferences. The sofa is strategically placed in front of the elaborate glass indoor garden, creating a focal point that invites relaxation and contemplation. The customized planning of the public area allows for a variety of living applications, while the original windows form another complete sitting area with the indoor garden, maximizing the use of space and enhancing the overall functionality of the residence.
The project was completed in February 2022 in Taiwan, and it is a testament to the designer's meticulous research and attention to detail. Every aspect of the design, from the height of the gas stove and countertop to the configuration of the dining room seating and tatami area, is customized to suit the client's needs and preferences. The selection of green building materials, the emphasis on natural lighting and ventilation, and the integration of technology such as an air purification system all contribute to creating a sustainable and healthy living environment.
